Following the recent creation of two Internet academies, a new public organization called Internet Operators Union (IOU) has been formed. The founders include Cityline, Global One, Relcom Business Network, Russian Telecommunications Network, Regional Center of Internet Technologies (ROCIT), National Electronic Library, and Russian Institute of Public Networks (RIPN). The entrance fee to the new society is $1,024 and it now unites its founders as well as Teleross, AG Telecom, RELARN Association, IT InfoArt Stars. Marat Guriev, IBM EE/A director for state programs was elected as IOU chairman.
