EMT and Infars have announced that they have completed a stage of a project to upgrade an information system of Norilskproject, a subsidiary of Norilsk Mining Company and Norilsk Nickel. According to Norilsk Nickel PR manager Anatoly Komrakov, in April 1999 his company launched a 10-year development program that includes the above project. So far, Norilskproject purchased 400 servers, workstations and other hardware units from IBM and Compaq, as well as networking equipment. The equipment was supplied mainly by SoftIntegro and Abis. EMT and Infars supplied over 50 AutoCAD R14 and AutoCAD MAP R3 licenses, and 10 SoftDesk S8 workplaces. Mr. Komrakov says Norilskproject has already invested $1.65 million in its information system, including $300,000 in the software. In the nearest future, the company plans to purchase “several hundred” 19- and 21-inch monitors.Norilsk Nickel: (+7 095) 915-82-94
