Five Ekaterinburg telecommunications companies to merge

Sviazinvest has announced that five Ekaterinburg-based telecommunications companies, including Ural Communications Designers Bureau (UCDB), Ekaterinburg Telegraph (ETeL), Uraltelecom, Ekaterinburg Intercity Telephone Exchange (EITE), and Ekaterinburg Telephone Network (ETN) have made a decision to merge based on Uraltelecom. The shareholders’ meetings of the first three companies have already approved the decision, while the shareholders of the other two operators are expected to vote for it in the middle of March. If the deal is approved Uraltelecom will own 47.3 percent in the new venture, ETN – 25 percent, EITE – 25 percent, ETeL – 2.5 percent, and UCDB – 0.2 percent.
