Lanit completes first stage of NIItyazhmash project
Lanit has announced that it has completed the first stage of a project to implement a CAD system at NIItyazhmash. In the framework of the project, Lanit has built a structured cable system for over 200 workplaces, installed an Intel-based server and workstations from one of the Russian vendors, an A0 plotter, implemented Unigraphics CAD/CAM/CAE system and has provided training for about 100 NIItyazhmash employees. The first stage was valued at about $780,000. During the next stage, Lanit will create another 200 workplaces, using the Solid Edge software from Unigraphics. According to Lanit CAD department director Sergey Maryin, the cost of Solid Edge is $6,000-7,000 per workplace.
