IBM announces new DBMS in Russia
The Russian office of IBM has announced a new version of its database management system - DB2 6.1 Universal Database. The new system can be used on portable, mobile, desktop, corporate and enterprise systems, supports Linux, OS/390, AS/400 platforms, and can work with Unicode and HML. The system is already available in Russia. IBM plans to distribute its version for developers, educational institutions, and portable devices free of charge.
