ITE buys nine exhibitions

International Trade & Exhibitions Group has announced it has purchased Moscow's Comtek computer fair and eight other Russian expositions for $14 million. "Acquisition of the Comtek brand will speed up our expansion plans for Internet and e-commerce in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States," says ITE chairman Laurie Lewis. Besides Comtek, ITE also bought the large CEM household appliances and products exposition and the Photo World photography exhibitions. ITE public relations representatives reported that the company's nine new exhibitions saw total revenues of $7.95 million in 1999. This year, ITE expects revenues of $3.64 million from the Comtek, CEM and Photo World exhibitions alone.
