Sun to restructure venture fund by summer

Sun Microsystems has announced that it has increased its venture fund from $200 million to $400 million and that it is planning to expand its activities to Middle East, Europe and Asia. The fund will be used to support Internet companies, specializing in the expansion of Internet infrastructure, the provision of services, and the development of business-to-business e-commerce. According to the head of Sun Microsystems in the CIS Sergey Tarasov, the venture fund is now being restructured and the decision on financing Russian and CIS companies has not been made yet. The restructuring results will probably be announced in May.
