Compaq converts Digital Machines’ status from distributor to direct dealer

Compaq has announced that it has degraded the status of Digital Machines from its distributor to direct partner. According to the vendor, the decision was driven by the need to align the status with actual sales volumes of DM. According to Compaq marketing manager Svyatoslav Sorokin, his company will only appoint a new distributor if it will enable the vendor to significantly expand its dealer network, especially in Far East and Siberia. Digital Machines is the largest IBM distributor in Russia.
