Verysell carrying out $50 million project in Uzbekistan

Verysell has reached an agreement with Navoysky Mining and Smelting Combine for the upgrade of its information system. Verysell signed the first contract with the combine in January 1999, which called for the delivery of equipment worth $400,000. Then the customer offered Verysell to become a prime contractor on a larger project, calling for full upgrade of its information systems. According to Verysell-Project general director Alexey Terentiev, subcontractors include Ecoprog and Galaktika. Hardware vendors are to chosen by the customer in cooperation with Verysell late in the second quarter or early in the third quarter this year. The combine plans to automate about 20,000 workplaces. Mr. Terentiev says the installation will probably be performed both by Moscow and by local companies. The whole project is valued at about $50 million.
