Sun finds buyers for high-end computers in Russia

According to Sun Microsystems regional manager in the CIS Sergey Tarasov, his company plans to ship at least 6-8 Sun Enterprise 10000 (Starfire) servers in Russia this year. Each Starfire computer costs between $0.4 and $3 million. One such machine has already been delivered through Roy International to Tatneftegeophysics, one – “to one state-owned enterprises” through Jet Infosystems, and another one is to be delivered to “a large Moscow-based provider” that plans to build a billing system based on the computer.
