TMK was a participant in the Fourth International Metals Week, held on 21-22 March 2006 in Moscow. The forum was organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Energy of the RF, the Federal Assembly of the RF, the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Chamber of Trade and Commerce of the RF.

Discussed within the framework of the Fourth International Metals Week were development strategies for the metallurgical industry, as well as the issues of improving economic and legislative regulation in the metallurgical and mountain ore industry, the support of state innovation policy, and increasing the competitiveness of Russian metallurgical and machine-building products on the world markets.

At the forum TMK representatives delivered a report on the trends and prospects for development of the pipe industry over the forthcoming years, which include the further consolidation of the pipe business, the introduction of new technological solutions, development of relations with investors, improvement of the management system, as well as ecological and social responsibility. With around 8% of the world’s total output volumes of steel pipes, the Russian pipe industry has considerable potential for development.
