TMK takes part in the 4th Metallurgical Summit in Moscow

TMK took part in the 4th Metallurgical Summit “Steel in Russia and the CIS: a new stage on the global market”, which was held on 1-2 June 2006 in Moscow. TMK performed the role of event sponsor. At the conference TMK Deputy General Director Sergei Bilan delivered a report entitled “TMK’s development strategy”. In his talk Sergei Bilan noted the main results of TMK’s development since the Company’s inception in 2001, including the consolidation of the significant production capabilities of the pipe industry in Russia and abroad, the stable growth of production and financial results, the creation of an effective system of corporate management, and the attainment of leading positions in the Russian and global pipe markets. Sergei Bilan also spoke about TMK’s development plans for the forthcoming years, based on the development trends and forecasts for the pipe product consumer market in Russia and worldwide. The most important component of TMK’s development is the large-scale integrated modernization of the Company’s steel-welding and pipe-rolling capacity for the period up to 2010. The realization of the given programme will enable TMK to achieve the very highest level of cutting-edge pipe production, raise the quality of its pipe product output to the standard of the best examples in global practice and increase pipe production volumes by 1.2m tonnes. “The large-scale activity being undertaken by TMK to reconstruct its existing production capabilities, raise quality and expand its output range will enable us to satisfy the requirements for hi-tech pipe products in the economies of Russia, the CIS and abroad,” remarked Sergei Bilan. The Metallurgical Summit, organized with the participation of the metallurgical industry’s authoritative publication – the magazine Metal Bulletin (UK), is held in Russia on an annual basis and is a significant event attended by the leaders in world metallurgy.
