Immune system protects organism from cancer
Researches of American oncologists have confirmed that immune system plays a very important role in protecting the organism from oncological diseases. It is well-known that malignant tumours can be attacked and destroyed by specific cells-killers - cytotoxic T-lymphocytes.
Doctors from Pennsylvania University found out that presence of T-lymphocytes in advanced ovarian malignancy is a good factor. They found out that life expectancy of patients with such tumours is three times longer than in patients with no Т- lymphocytes in the tumor.
Authors of the article published in New England Journal of Medicine noted that presence of T-lymphocytes in malignant tumor increases significantly the efficiency of both radiation and chemotherapy.
