Russian PC vendor Aquarius has announced principal results of its work in
the first half of 2001. During the first six months of 2001 the company sold
34,008 personal computers and 950 servers. For the full year the company is
planning to increase its sales by 40 percent compared with the year 2000 and
ship over 100,000 units. Also Aquarius has recently opened a production
facility in Moscow, capable of assembling 36,000 computers a year. The
company's investments in it totaled $400,000. Until now, all
Aquarius-branded computers have been manufactured by a factory in Shuya,
capable of producing 120,000 PCs a year. Currently, the Moscow-based
production line is passing ISO 9002 certification procedure. The vendor also
announced that the number of its regional partners increased from 370 to 396
in the first half of this year. The company also reports that it has
expanded its service network in 1H2001, having opened three new service
centers - two in Kaliningrad and one in Vladimir. Today Aquarius has a total
of 30 service centers, with plans to increase their number to 40 by year
end.
