Ministry of Education to build federal information system

The Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation has announced that it is planning to create an integrated information system, which will eventually interconnect it with federal, regional and municipal educational organizations across Russia. Initially, the system will interconnect the ministry with 330 higher education institutions. The ministry has already sent its requirements to “15 largest systems integrators”. Within the next several years, the ministry intends to spend about 1 billion roubles (about $35 million) on the project.
