Socap, Deloitte & Touche to automate Polipak

Socap and Deloitte & Touche have announced that they have started a joint project to implement the enterprise management system SyteLine by Symix at Polipak, a member of GOTEK holding. According to Polipak IT department manager Sergey Shirokikh, in autumn 1998 his company in cooperation with Coopers & Lybrand organized a tender among 10 vendors to choose an ERP system. Four companies – SAP, Baan, Tsefey and Socap – proceeded to the final round. As a consultant on the implementation, Polipak chose Deloitte & Touche, which had experience with the implementation of SyteLine and offered more advantageous tariffs than Coopers & Lybrand, Mr. Shirokikh says. According to Socap executive director Vladimir Musin, his company will implement all major modules of the system. Polipak purchased 20 concurrent licenses, allowing concurrent work of up to 50 users. The project is scheduled for completion in the second half of this year. Mr. Musin says other three subsidiaries of GOTEK also plan to purchase SyteLine in the future. However, the implementation will be carried out by their own employees, trained by Socap.
