Vympelcom founds Vympelcom-R

The cellular operator Vympelcom has created a subsidiary - Vympelcom-R - that will focus on regional projects. Today the new company is 100 percent owned by Vympelcom but its share may be decreased in the future. According to the operator's officials, it is currently negotiating with the Norwegian company Telenor on possible investments in regional projects. The five-year investment plan is valued at $300 million.
