Intel ships Merced samples

Intel has started to ship pilot samples of its new 64-bit processor Merced to computer vendors. According to the Moscow office of Intel, this Autumn in Russia the processor can only be available as prototype hardware. Actual import will only start next year when problems brought about by US export restrictions are resolved.
