CIS Metals Summit 2006
TMK sponsored the 11-th international conference «CIS Metals Summit», organized by Adam Smith Institute, that took place on 15-17 of February. Among issues discussed at the summit there were tendencies of development of the CIS countries metallurgical sector, the price policy and decrease in production costs of the metallurgical companies, analysis of raw material markets for the steelmaking and pipe industry and others.
ТМК representatives have addressed the conference with the report on problems and prospects of development of pipe industry. There was noted in the report of the Company that the pipe industry played the important role in the Russian economy. In 2005 the share of pipe production in manufacturing of steel has exceeded 10 %, that is more then world average level.
Being the largest manufacturer of pipe production in Russia, ТМК as one of the key purposes of the development has defined increase of a qualitative level of its production by introduction of high technologies and realizations of the complex program of costs optimization, development of service and expansion of its presence in the world market.
