Dmitriy Pumpyanskiy, Chairman of the TMK Board of Directors, takes part in the Board of Directors conference at the International Iron and Steel Institute

Within the framework of the conference directors of the largest metallurgical companies of the world, members of the ISII, examined a report compiled by working groups on the projects “Improving the safety and protection of work in the industry” and “Internet University: the promotion of a system of training young specialists and teaching iron industry subjects.”

The conference participants also discussed reports on the short-term forecast of world demand for steel products and the medium-term forecast for metallurgical raw materials. Of great interest to the meeting participants were the presentations given by representatives of the International Energy Agency, which specified the lines of interaction between the two organizations in the field of calculating the influence of the iron industry on climate change and the fulfilment of the Kyoto protocol.

TMK considers participation in the work of the IISI to be an opportunity to use the best world industry practice and assist the development of the favourable public image of the iron industry and, in particular, the pipe branch of this industry.
