Government to invest $433 million on Russia’s ‘technology base’
The Russian government has approved a program called National technology base for 2002-2006 and has put it on a list of federal programs to be financed from the state budget. The program will be overseen by the Ministry of Industry, Science, and Technologies of the Russian Federation. The program is valued at 13 billion roubles, 7.7 billion of which should be allocated from the state budget. Annual financing will be determined every year, depending on capabilities of the state budget. The program covers such industries as microelectronics, computers and telecommunications.
