RAO UES to spin off its main computer center
The Main Computer Center (MCC) of the monopoly Russian energy utility RAO UES has announced that it will become an independent company in 2002 as part of a wide ranging RAO UES reorganization. RAO UES has however, still not decided who will be MCC shareholders and if it will retain a share in the new company. The reorganization plans call for MCC to concentrate on the development of information systems. Currently, the computer center mainly works on the development of the Electra information system and specialized solutions for RAO UES.
